Cresco acted as lead counsel to the general partner in the structuring, formation and fundraising of SmartFin Ventures, a long-term oriented early stage venture capital fund managed by a team that combines both successful venture capital and international entrepreneurial experience.
SmartFin Ventures, structured as a tax efficient private privak, is an early stage venture capital fund that invests across Europe with a focus on Benelux, Northern Europe and Israel.
The fund focuses on companies developing smart technologies for the financial industry and related technologies such as security, big data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and enterprise software.
The fund is aiming for a total fund size of EUR 40 million. Investors include the investment arms of the Federal government and investment funds of leading Belgian captains of industry.
