23 January 2018
Cresco assisted big data specialist NGDATA in the structuring, negotiation and closing of its USD 19 million Series C investment round led by HPE Growth Capital, an international private equity player focusing on growth capital investments in the technology sector that currently manages over EUR 400 million of committed capital. NGDATA’s existing investors such as Idinvest Partners, Pamica, SmartFin Capital, Capricorn Ventures and Nausicaa Ventures co-invested to further accelerate NGDATA’s global growth.
The capital raising comes on the heels of another landmark transaction of NGDATA, the acquisition of New York based data-driven consultancy company Eccella in May 2017, with Cresco acting as lead counsel. The acquisition of Eccella added valuable data management expertise and expanded NGDATA’s global footprint across North America, Europe and Asia. NGDATA has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan, that already led to the acquisitions of Dutch smart video producing company Rednun and Belgian data management and analytics consultancy firm Enqio.
NGDATA combines big data management and machine learning technology into its customer intelligence solution Lily Enterprise. This solution helps enterprises with large numbers of customers to provide personalized customer experience, increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty. The company has its headquarters in Ghent (Belgium) with further offices in New York, San Francisco and Singapore.
David Dessers, Yannick Verrycke, Laura Rosseel and Madjda Temraz constituted the deal team for these transactions.
