Welvaartsfonds in €10 million funding round of GIMBER

Cresco acted as lead counsel to Welfvaartsfonds (WVF) in the €10 million funding round of GIMBER.

GIMBER is a Belgian producer of a premium non-alcoholic ginger drink. It is distributed as a premium drink in a series of select retail outlets across Europe.

The capital injection from WVF will drive product innovation and sales strategies, to further strengthen GIMBER’s position in existing markets such as the Benelux and France. In addition, the scale-up is also setting its sights on further international expansion in other markets.

WVF is a private equity fund investing in promising Flemish companies in order to revitalize the Flemish economy after the pandemic. The fund focuses on growth companies with a sustainable character.

The transaction was coordinated by David Dessers and Glenn L’Hoëst, leading a team of several associates on this interesting deal.
